Wakayama City and Wakaura Bay Beach

Posted 19 May 2015 | By | Categories: Wakayama | No Comments

It’s getting hotter and hotter, summer is coming (indeed you know nothing, John Snow!), so why not enjoy a day-trip to Wakayama City? At first we had planned to camp there, but thanks to our laziness we decided to do a round trip on the same day by scooter. A wise decision? Let’s figure out!

Inari Shrine, Toyonaka

Another shrine not far from home, quite small but still beautiful. The main torii is not made from wood (probably concrete) but was painted anyway. Photos taken with my phone, if you hadn’t guessed already :p

Harada Shrine, Toyonaka

Anywhere you go in Japan, you find temples/shrines. I’d say that most of them are very alike, but I like the style, the architecture and the peaceful feeling that all of this produces. Inner peace inner peace inner peace!

Katsuō Temple (勝尾寺 Katsuō-ji)

Right after having visited Minō Kōen, we went to Katsuō-ji (see the official website), a buddhist temple called “The Temple of the winner’s luck”. One of the cool things in Japan is that they work quite a lot, especially on special events. That’s the case for the New 2014 Year where they had all night trains. Thanks to that, we could take a rest after our arrival and leave for Kyoto. To be honest, we had quite a big […]

Welcome to Osaka

I’m posting. Which means I’m still alive despite having flown by plane. That’s good neeeews!! I’m finally back, I’m so happy ^o^ But before talking about how life is here, allow me to talk about my flights.

Back in Japan

Here it is! After a 3-looong-year wait, it was about time! Biwa-chan is back in Japan, and for long! This time, the next destination is not Kyushu but Honshu, and more precisely Osaka, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world (in the top 15 [size, population, etc]). The first one being by far… […]
